On Wednesday night, “daddy” Romelu Lukaku was put through his paces with Belgium under-21s at their training session for the European Championship this summer in the Czech Republic. Accompanied by current Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, the young players got to work some PlayStation as the 26-year-old, who signed from Everton in the summer of 2017, ran and pulled defenders with ease.
Despite the fact that the Friday night friendly in Oslo against Norway will be the Manchester United striker’s first international fixture of the season, the internet reaction was pretty one-sided — Lukaku looked utterly bored. The Twitter gaffes began almost immediately after his initial appearance in the dressing room and then continued when he made his reappearance on the pitch. And he certainly did not help matters by kneeling down to chat with a pair of dazed-looking soccer players. Here, he is dressed simply in a pair of shorts. (To me, it’s not that surprising).
Looks like he really, really, really likes a game of hide-and-seek. Just watch the subtle glances.
The footage also looks pretty disappointing.
