Ahmad Wais, the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Louisiana, along with his staff, put to rest, some of the misconceptions about the Wais family.

Ever since the book’s publication, the family has been subject to slanderous reports, including that they had ‘ kidnapped Ahmed Wais, according to the Washington Post. The Washington Post suggested that the Wais family would not listen to the court’s decision, which seems ludicrous given the entire process took place in just one day.

The judge did not characterize the final decision as wrong, but did reiterate that Ahmed Wais and his two daughters are a lawful US citizen. He also stated that Ahmed Wais owes his children $40,000 in child support, which Ahmad Wais disputes.

The family thanked the judge’s comments and moves to clarify certain issues and reiterated the good work of the court and the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
